Bonus Abuse (hay promo abuse) là khi người chơi exploit bonuses/promotions để profit mà không có ý định chơi thực sự. Các tactics phổ biến: multi-accounting (tạo nhiều accounts để claim welcome bonus), arbitrage betting (bet cả 2 sides để guarantee profit), minimum wagering (chỉ đáp ứng đủ wagering requirements rồi withdraw). Bonus abusers có negative LTV và làm tăng CAC cho traffic thật. Operators phải implement detection systems và terms & conditions chặt chẽ.
Ví dụ thực tế
Operator có welcome bonus: 100% match up to $500, 10x wagering. Abuser tạo 50 accounts, mỗi account deposit $500, nhận $500 bonus, total $1000. Chơi low-variance games để clear 10x wagering ($10,000), withdraw ~$950 per account. Profit $450/account × 50 = $22,500. Operator mất $25,000 bonuses + processing costs mà không có real revenue. Phải implement device fingerprinting, IP tracking, và behavioral analysis để detect.
Tại sao quan trọng?
Bonus abuse là vấn đề lớn vì: (1) Thiệt hại tài chính trực tiếp - có thể chiếm 10-30% bonus budget, (2) Làm méo metrics - inflated registration/FTD numbers nhưng negative LTV, (3) Tốn resources để detect và ban accounts, (4) Ảnh hưởng đến legitimate players nếu terms quá strict. Operators phải balance giữa generous bonuses (để compete) và fraud prevention.
